THE RULES
These are the rules of The Institute. Any breaking of these rules will result in disciplinary actions that the Admins see fit. By joining this site and creating a character, you agree to these terms. Rules will also be updated without notification, so it is important to look at this thread periodically to make sure you are up to date on these rules.
RULE 1: Respect This seems to be the top rule of every site, but this is no exception. You must be respectful of every member, as well as staff. This is a fun and safe environment that we all want to be a part of, but we cannot be a part of if everyone decides to act hateful towards one another. So, please make sure to keep you OOC drama out of the site. Which leads to our next rule...
RULE 2: Drama We are a site that does not like drama. If you bring drama onto this site we have no problem with you moving on. We love members, but hate the drama. Have fun, and remember this is just a site. Don't worry so much about anything else.
RULES 3: Registering When registering for an account, you may use whatever username, but your display name needs to be in ALL CAPS. Please keep to this rule so the site looks uniform and not messy. Thank you so much.
RULE 4: Application In order to post with your character on the site, you must apply for the character. We have many different kinds of species to go with, but you must apply and an admin needs to accept your account. We are a beginner's site, but we are here to hone your writing skills to an advanced level.
RULES 5: Post Requirement You need to have at least 300 word posts. Try to match your best with the others that you are posting with, but if you need to, the bare minimum is 300 posts.
RULES 6: Multiple Characters We have no limit to how many characters you have. All we ask is that you remain realistic, and not make too many characters you can't handle. BUT in order to make a new character, one of your accounts needs to have at least 150 posts.
RULE 7: Absence We will be having IC jobs which you can obtain, but, much like real jobs, if you are absent for a long time without notification you will be fired and replaced. So, if this is the case, you need to make sure you post in our absence board. We also will be able to keep your PB claim if you notify us.
RULE 8: Site Rating We are a PG-13 site. That means, you can have the violence, but not too much into detail. No graphic material. Basic rule is make sure that if your parents were to see the posts you make, they wouldn't be ashamed of you. According to Proboards TOS if any of this is slightly broken the site can be shut down. So, please make sure you are following this rule.
RULE 9: Be Realistic This is really simple and all that. But no godmodding and all that business. Also when threading try to be as realistic as possible. This means your characters get hurt, things happen. Trust me, people will be more excited that you are realistic and not all powerful, than anything else. We aren't all Jaces, Magnuses, and Clarys. Try to be original.
RULE 10: Fun! All we ask is to have fun! It isn't hard to keep up with these rules as they are all common sense. Just enjoy yourself!
